Vanilla Bean Gelato Recipe Simple ‘N Delicious
Recipe Ingredients 1 cups whole milk 1 cup heavy cream 3/4 cup sugar 4 egg yolks 1 vanilla bean Directions Separate 4 eggs. In a medium bowl whip the egg yolks with the sugar using an electric mixer until the eggs have become thick and pale yellow. In a saucepan combine the milk, cream, and egg mixture. Cook over very low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes thick, about 10 minutes. Towards the end of the cooking process split the vanilla bean pod open and scrape the seeds out. Place the seeds and the split pods into the mixture and continue to stir. Once the mixture is cooked, chill it in refrigerator. Remove the vanilla pod and pour the mixture into an ice cream maker to make gelato.
